Question 2
How does you media product represent particular social groups?
The main age range that our media product represents are teenagers, this is because most of the characters in our film are teenagers. Our target audience would be about the same age as the characters in our film so that the audience can all relate to them.
We represent different social groups thorugh the characters personalities and props, for example Roger in our film is represented as the 'nerdy' character as he has glasses and always
plays on his console. Then on the other hand Ben, the main character,
carries around a skateboard with him and wears earphones. We also
included shots of his shoes and clothes to show him as one of the 'cool' kids.
By doing this it means that we can allow people to relate to them and it
causes them to feel that the film appeals to them.

We researched props and costumes and made sure that they accurately represent stereotypes, we then posted the research onto our blog.
The character 'Lance' is seen as evil and this is represented by the clothing - a dark long cloak not revealing too much about themselves. It is also represented through the low key lighting in every shot of them. this is a negative representation of the character and also the older age people as Lance is older than the other characters. This is a negative representation because typical teenagers usually have negative opinions on adults and, since our film's target audience is teenagers, this means they will be able to understand the characters' hatred towards Lance and then not like the antagonist of the film.
I think that the type of audience to watch our film would have the personality of an explorer, they are young, have energy and seek adventure which fits with our film, I also think that watching our film would allow people to experience some escapism from reality as the film is fictional, beacuse of this i feel that it could also appeal to the 'Struggler' group of people because it would make them feel as if they are away from reality when watching it.
I think that the profile of them can also range from upper middle class to working class as i feel that all these people, no matter what their social status is, can enjoy and watch our film.
